Cupcakes, Flowers & Advice

So, the Bar is exactly two weeks from today, which means I am now eating, breathing, and sleeping - literally flash cards in bed! - exam material.  Sadly, I won't be posting with much regularity in the interim.  Ya can't do it all unfortunately.

Anyhow, I think its times like these when you really need to stop and appreciate the little things in life and treat yourself.  Don't you agree?  So, when I was picking up some sustenance at Whole Foods today, I also picked up a few treats.  How cute is the little frog cupcake above?  Almost too cute to eat!

I usually buy some flowers for my apartment, but this week I bought TWO bouquets.  A little excessive, but its a cheaper form of retail therapy than a clothing spree and that already happened last week... oops!  Besides, if spending $10 on some flowers for your desk is going to make you happier while you work, then it is so worth it.

This arrangement is from a farm upstate.  They're pretty wild looking and I figured it was good to bring a little bit of the outdoors in, since I'll be cooped up for the next couple of weeks!

I had never bought any of the WF handmade bouquets before, but figured they were small enough for my overflowing desk this week.  Funny that the green matches my stickies!

Another thing I do when I am really busy/stressed is look up quotes and witticisms for inspiration and advice... a little dorky, yes.  My current (and original) mantra is "FOCUS & don't freak out" - sort of like the famous "keep calm and carry on" campaign, but it better matches the absurd intensity I'm feeling at the moment.  Luckily, Pinterest has basically removed my need to actively look up words of wisdom - lots of the people I follow like quotes too!  You can follow me here.  These made me smile:

I love the "loosen up, scream, curse the world" bit.  After reading it, I picked up the phone and vented my frustrations and fears about the exam to my friend, Lawyer Stacey, and felt infinitely better afterwards.  Thanks, Stace!

As for the hot baths, I've always been a fan and may or may not have brought a glass of wine into the tub with me at one point this summer.  But, in the words of Chandler from friends: click here.  (FYI, that Tumblr site has been sanity for many law students this summer - a little sad, yes, but its all about the little things, right?!)

My favorite tip!  Although, in my case the drink is currently coffee and tea!  You already know I feel about lipstick.  Gotta love Liz.
