LWD (Little White Dress)

With Memorial Day around the corner I am definitely in the market for a little white dress.  I feel like you need a new one at least every other season, because if you're like me, you'll wear it till its threadbare.  I used to have a short, 3/4 sleeve, white small-eyelet dress that I wore all the time.  During the day, I'd wear it with limited accessories and let it billow out (it wasn't fitted).  At night, I'd belt it, add some metallic sandals and a fun necklace.  I love, love, loved it and was so sad when - after many attempts at bleaching - I finally had to say goodbye.  I am not sure I have ever been so attached to a dress.  Sigh.  But, not to worry!  I found some great LWDs below and can't wait to try them on!

Short and Sweet:

1. Milly Shift Dress, $325
This reminds me a bit of my old dress and I bet I could belt it!

2. Tibi Astor Cap Sleeve Dress, $398
This simple silhouette will always be in style.  Wear flat sandals and throw a lightweight sweater over your shoulders for a sweet day look.  Add heels and fun jewelry for a sexy evening look!

Beachy:

3. Lily Pulitzer Brielle Dress, $268
Cute and easy to throw on to grab some lunch in between tanning (with hats and lots of SPF!) sessions.
4. Plenty by Tracy Reese Cotton Sleeveless Dress, $188
I love that this dress accentuates the waist, yet has such a carefree look about it.  Reminds me a bit of Calypso.

Preppy and Polished:

5. Lauren by Ralph Lauren Sleeveless Pleated Dress, $159
Classic.  You could wear it shopping or to a casual dinner.   I would hem it to look a bit more youthful and flattering.

6. J. McLaughlin Irene Ivory Ruffle Dress, $188
I like this dress.  I was in the store the other day and actually found a very different white dress that is not online.  It was stretchy, long-sleeved, and had a rope around the waist - very nautical.

Dressy:

7. BCBG Alice Mixed Lace Dress, $248
I really like this dress and think that BCBG tends to be a good bang for your buck.  Like #1 and #2, its pretty transitional, but more conservative.  You could wear it to brunch with parents or a to charity event.

8. Herve Leger Foil Bandage Dress, $1,590
This is so super sexy and I like this length for an Herve dress.  That being said, its hard to justify spending so much on a dressy white dress when so many summer events are weddings.  It would be a great second dress if you were a bride!
Hope you liked these!  Did I miss any great dresses?  Let me know!
