Nude Heels

I love nude heels.  Nothing makes your legs look better.  Because they blend in with your skin, they create the illusion of a longer leg without having to be super high.  I have a pair of Prada nude heels that are 3.5" high, which I wear all the time - both out and to work.  They are the perfect shoes for any occasion and were completely worth the investment.

Over the weekend my friend Amy asked me for some suggestions about purchasing nude heels.  The first piece of advice that I gave her was to buy in patent leather.  I would not dream of buying a light colored shoe in anything but a patent, because otherwise, they are impossible to keep clean - especially if you plan to get a lot of wear from them.  Second, I recommended that she try on a couple of pairs to determine what color nude looks best on her.  Its not quite like foundation, but different shades will look better on different complexions.  After trying on a couple, you'll definitely believe this.  You'll know the shade is right for you when you see the illusion of a never-ending leg.  Since Attorney Amy reminded me that she "has to go to court sometimes," I tried to find some options that would be good for both going out and to work.

1. PRADA Pointy Toe Pump, $620
These would be great for any occasion.  3.5"

2. Via Spiga Women's Janice Pump, $185
At 2.5" these are the perfect height for  work.  Plus, I think the cutout is  great and gives the shoe a more summery look.

3. JIMMY CHOO Aimee Patent Platform Pump, $665
For me, these are a bit high for work, but I love the shape.

4. MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS 'Ghita' Pump, $257
The thicker the heel, the easier to wear.

5. MANOLO Classic Point-Toe Patent Pump, $595

6. CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN Piou Piou 85 Patent-Leather Pumps, $645

7. MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS Flex Low Patent Pumps, $98
A clean, sophisticated shape with a low heel that is great for work.
8. LK Bennett Sledge Pump, $325
At 4" these are a bit high for day, but LK Bennett is a great brand that is only recently available in the U.S. - the styles are very reminiscent of Jimmy Choo or Louboutin, but at a better price point.
