Ginger Tea

I would definitely categorize myself as a tea person.  While I often down a cup of coffee on the go, I treat tea as a ritual.  It slows you down, calms you down and can be completely therapeutic.  I was first served fresh ginger tea at a spa 2 years ago and have been replicating it ever since.  It is one of my absolute favorites.
Day or night, hot or iced, I know you’ll love this tea as much as I do.  Start adding ginger root and lemons to your grocery list now!
1. Boil water.
2. Break off about an inch and a half of ginger root, peel with a carrot peeler or knife and grate into a teapot or tea filter with a microplane grater (pictured).
3. Add water.
4. Squeeze desired amount of lemon into the teapot.
5. Let steep for 3-5 minutes.
Extras I sometimes add:
1. A sweetener - usually agave nectar or honey.
2. Ginseng extract.
3. A splash of whiskey. ;)
